Maximize Nanny Pay & Minimize Employer Tax

August 30, 2012

Nanny Tax Tip for Household Employers from Breedlove & Associates:

Maximize your nanny’s take home pay and minimize your employer tax.

Households can offer certain benefits to their employee and have them be considered non-taxable compensation (no taxes for employer or employee).  The IRS-approved benefits for households are:

  • Health Insurance premiums from a state-licensed insurance provider;
  • Up to $5,250 per year towards tuition & books for an accredited college or university.
  • Up to $125 per month toward public transportation to and from the worksite;
  • Up to $240 per month towards parking (at the jobsite and/or at the public transportation facility).

Strategically-structured payroll can save you and your employee a considerable amount of money each year.  To learn more about non-taxable compensation and how to take advantage of it, contact Breedlove & Associates.

Proud Supporter of WTTW and PBS

Cambridge Nanny Group proud Sponsor of WTTW Kids Fun and Run: A 3K Family Walk and 5K Fun Run to support children’s programming on WTTW.

Cambridge Nanny Group is a proud sponsor of PBS children’s programming, and it was a delight and privilege to be one of the corporate sponsor’s who participated in the WTTW Fun and Run on August 26, 2012 in Lincoln Park.

PBS is the most important children’s programming in the history of American television. Providing the highest-quality programming and learning environment for children, PBS’ children’s media invites kids on a journey to explore the world around them with non-violent, age-appropriate content that offers positive role models for children to learn from and grow with.

PBS and member stations are America’s largest classroom, available to 98% of America’s children through our television service – including those who can’t attend preschool. They offer educational media that helps prepare children for success in school and opens up the world for them in an age-appropriate way.

PBS is dedicated to offering educational resources that can lead to success in the classroom. PBS is the country’s No. 1 source of media content for pre-school teachers and the No. 1 place parents turn to for preschool video online, with content that has been shown to improve critical literacy skills in young children. PBS and member stations have partnered with other publicly funded organizations to deliver more than 14,000 unique, curriculum-based educational resources through PBS LearningMedia, launched in the summer of 2011. This is a free service for all teachers, students and home-schooling families nationwide, offered through local PBS member stations.

The year 2012 marked 12 Daytime Emmy Awards for PBS KIDS series, the 15th consecutive year that PBS earned more Daytime Emmy awards for its children’s programming than any other broadcast or cable network. PBS KIDS was also recently named Channel of the Year at the 2012 Kidscreen Awards.

According to Nielsen, in June 2012, PBS had four of the top 10 programs among mothers of young children, including CURIOUS GEORGE, SESAME STREET, THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT!, and SUPER WHY!.

PBSKIDS.org is ranked America’s No. 1 kids video site for free streamed videos based on the number of videos viewed. In addition, according to Google Analytics, more than 74 milion videos were streamed on the PBS KIDS Video for iPhone/iPad app in June 2012.
